Timeless beauty in the heart of the West Pennine Moors
Affetside is situated on the flanks of the old Roman road known as Watling Street. The village comprises approximately 50 properties, set within beautiful countryside with a 15th century pub, church and village green.
Discover the stunning panoramic landscape and an area full of history and legend. Wander across the ancient moorland pack horse trails and enjoy a visit to the Pack Horse Inn, or simply relax by the duck pond with a picnic lunch.
Explore this unique location for yourselves and take a step back in time.
As well as visiting us personally, keep visiting this website as we update it regularly so everyone can keep informed of social event dates and other relevant information.
We have a proud and strong community spirit and work hard to retain the character of the village and manage the social events that are held in it.
But whilst we volunteer our time to organise and carry out the functions, we do have to pay for things like equipment, materials, insurance and music licences.
Apart from bringing people together, these events generate valuable funds for the upkeep of the village green and to finance other occasions like the brass band concert at Christmas.
